img_9194I received several lactation smoothies from Sweetie Pie a few weeks ago. I haven’t noticed any issues with my supply with Alex. However, we have been having a hard time with sleep. Since I am nursing, it is difficult to tell if he is getting what he should during the week. I thought trying these smoothies may help with my supply and thus help Alex have a fuller tummy (and maybe even sleep a little better).

img_9195I have been periodically drinking them – that is, not consistently drinking one every day. However, I can definitely tell that when I do drink them, Alex eats more and seems satisfied for a longer period of time. That in itself is reason enough for me to keep drinking them. However, I have come to find even more reasons to love these smoothies.

The apple pear is delicious. I seriously could drink these several times a day just due to the yummy flavor. When I first tried it, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It is a tad sweeter than I thought it may be,  but I am okay with that. There is a bit of a grainy texture to it as well. However, I would guess that is from the flaxseed in it. Tim and I usually make our own smoothies. So, the grainy texture doesn’t bother me at all seeing as our smoothies tend to have a similar texture.img_9192

This smoothie is also USDA Organic certified. Which I know a lot of parents that this is a HUGE deal. I was talking to a friend of mine who has a son a few weeks older than Alex, and she was having a hard time finding something to help her supply. She is allergic to many things and unfortunately most products designed to help with milk production, she couldn’t use. When I was talking to her about Sweetie Pie Lactation Smoothies, I was happy to find out that these were something she could have (Whoop! Whoop!). I highly recommend these smoothies. You can buy them online or at Whole Foods. Check out their Facebook page too for $1 off!
